With this method you can use just the free hosting and have total control of what you build. It is a little more difficult to use than online web builders but well worth the effort. And you get no ads on your site unless you want them.

000webhost is an option to host your home made site on and I have also found a company called Byethost that will host your site for free.
Both these hosting companies allow you to upload your website and have many tools at your disposal I personally prefer Byethost as it seems more professional with faster page load times, and should you wish to upgrade, they transfer your files for you to a faster server and you can have up to 50 websites hosted for free. Also their fantastico installer works well, unlike 000webhost. An upgrade costs about $40 for the year and you get loads more functions to play with and a .Com or .Info Domain included in the price.

You have various options if you want to build your own website and the upload it to a free server. If you have Front page included with an early Microsoft office package then you already have a web builder on your P.C.
