For my own domains I use namecheap.com At the moment they have a good deal on .info domains which cost $2.99 for the first year. .com domains are from $9.69 per year and are a must buy, If you are serious about building a successful website.

Short and catchy is good but it is becoming more difficult as more and more domains are registered every day.
When you pick your domain try to use - between words this will help you and other people find your site.
Example rentbigcars.com is three words but Google and other search engines will see it as one word that means nothing.
Nobody types without spaces. if you use "-" in the domain it helps in a few ways.
Example rent-big-cars.com
Firstly people can read it without squinting. Secondly Google sees "-" as a space and so your domain in effect becomes an extra key word (s) for your site. Thirdly you are more likely to find a short domain name if you use a "-" between words. .info Names are cheap for the first year but unless your site is an information site get a .com or .co.uk It will pay you in the long run.
Also buy it for two years minimum. It makes a difference to your credibility with search engines.
